The texts, the design of this site, the drawings and the photographs of tattoos shown here belong to the studio and to its artists, and are protected by Portuguese and international copyright law.

You may share links to these pages. You may not copy, republish, sell or adapt the content, in whole or in part, without written permission. This includes using it to train or feed automated image or text generators.

Tattoo designs

Every tattoo shown here is an original piece made by one of our artists for one person. Please do not take these designs to be tattooed elsewhere: ask your own artist to draw something for you, or come to us.

Name and logo

The name ZECARTE TATTOO and its logo identify this studio and may not be used by others without written permission.

Photographs of the island

Some photographs of Madeira are by Unsplash contributors, used under the Unsplash licence and credited on each image. They remain the work of their authors.

People in the photographs

Photographs of clients and of their tattoos are published with their consent. If you appear in an image and want it removed, send us a message and we will take it down.

If you believe something on this site infringes your own rights, tell us the page and the reason, and we will look at it promptly.

The island guide

The guide to Madeira is written in good faith by people who live here, but trails close, weather turns and opening times change. Check conditions with the official sources before you set out. We are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of this guide.

Links to other sites are there to help. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.

Bookings and deposit

Bookings are made by WhatsApp and confirmed with a €50 deposit. The minimum session is €80, and the final price is agreed with you before the session starts.

The deposit is not an extra charge: it is deducted from the final price of the tattoo you have done.

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment, we refund the deposit in full. If you cancel later than that, or do not come, the deposit is not refunded.

If you come to the studio at the agreed time and we cannot reach an agreement on the price of the project, or if it is the studio that decides not to do the tattoo, we refund the deposit within 24 hours.

Age and our right to decline

We tattoo from the age of 18. At 16 or 17, only with a parent or legal guardian present and their written consent. We always ask for an identity document.

We are not obliged to do any tattoo. Our artists only tattoo when they are comfortable doing so, and may decline or stop a session on grounds of common sense and safety: for example the design, the placement, the state of the skin, a health concern, or a client who is not in a condition to be tattooed.

Complaints and applicable law

The studio has a complaints book on the premises and the electronic complaints book at www.livroreclamacoes.pt. In a consumer dispute you may also turn to the Centro de Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo da Região Autónoma da Madeira.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law.
